Yes, that sounds fine. Let me know if you need any edits to it.

Matt - can we put your cartoon on a tshirt in the Reconstruct shop?

Oops! I broke the link to my cartoon! But now I've put it up on a Reconstruct photo gallery.

Matt: I LOVE the drawing, and I think your theory is quite valid.

I can see it in a 'How to play the game successfully' Guide as a checklist and measure-stick of ingredients for success...
I guess with enough material like Matt's diagrams, it's possible to put together a guide, almost like the instruction guides you get sometimes with Board games, specially the most complex ones...

Marco,
ever since we discussed expertise, I have been thinking about it. Every superstruct is a three-link chain. Each link in the chain is a type of role:

1. The domain expert, such as a scientist, economist, businessman or politician, is likely to need strengths in Longbroading, Emergensight, Signal/Noise Management, and Open Authorship.
2. The communicator/persuader is likely to have strengths in Mobbability, Multi-Capitalism, Cooperation Radar, and Influency.
3. The doer is excited about getting up from the keyboard, leaving the house, and using hands and feet in the physical world. Only then is success or failure possible, and therefore Protovation, which loops back around to the thinker.

These are not all different people, although they may be. My point was not to say we each have to be in all three roles (although we may). Rather, we should encourage and look for people who have skills in one of the roles where there are deficits. If one of the three links is missing, nothing much happens. I made this cartoon to try to illustrate it for you.

My goals was to learn as much as I could about the concept of socially responsible 'gaming' - brand new to me, very appealing - as well as web 2 point whatever strategies for participation in such things so I can turn around and use pieces in my work marketing green companies and non-profit animal rescue groups. So I plunged right in and sought rewards as proof of knowledge acquisition. Each badge was like a graded paper in an online class. So in this way I am completely in line with your concept of needing a goal, Marco. I too have a life! What I've learned here is going to help me live it even better now. In this way, I will on the look out for more of this good stuff. Two week increments are an attractive option.
Marco Antonio Comment by Marco Antonio on November 14, 2008 at 7:04am
my comment to that is that I would lack a goal or objective. Having 6 weeks to 'save the world' from the 'superthreats' gave me something to aim for.
If it's too open ended, I might not participate - because there are other more defined personal projects that would take my attention, and because I just wouldn't know where does it end.

The idea of working ad-eternum for world peace is not attractive to me. But if we make up another 'reason' to participate - A two week stunt of making the existing Superstructs more solid - might be better. "New Superthreat: Government suspicion. The governments of the world are giving the Superstructs two weeks to prove they are worthy of staying". Or something.

Otherwise this could go on forever, and I have a life to live. :)

When I reviewed what was being offered here about 5 and a half weeks ago - I figured I was good for, like maybe 40 points total - and maybe one superbadge with luck and hard work. Because I know what I'm good at - and where I need work, or don't have interest (referring back to an earlier line of discussion in this thread). Then I got hepped up on achievement and pursuit of points. But I've come full circle now. I've given my best, I've reached my limit and have learned much doing so. For the future to this future I'm happy to go forward continuing the path taken - in a manner that's less about points and more about collaboration. For anyone interested - there is a Superstruct group formed on linkedin.com . It may be real world collaborations will be sparked there in addition to these forums inented just for SEHIs. For one thing - we have a fine sense of who each other is and what each stands for if we've kept up with their contributions.

I think the time frame on the ss site as well as right here is open ended for now. IFTF is letting the interface stay up - and the Reconstruct shop will finance this bandwidth presumably indefinitely as products are created, added and sold. (that address? http://www.zazzle.com/reconstruct ) With that in mind, due to the useful flexibility of some of the features here on Reconstruct and no doubt other places as we go, collaborations, substantive liaisons and other meaningful connections will be allowed to grow and find their 'purpose', flex their inspiration muscle and have effect well beyond what I would have thought back in October. In other words the creative flow can continue unhindered! You know what I'm seeing? Online workshops and seminars we arrange for each other! And who knows what else you geniuses will cook up.

I think that's easy to answer if you look through the definition of badges. A few of them needed a serious dedication to be achieved! - For example, 'real time coordination of massive scale collaborative efforts'... that's not something you can easily achieve (or think that you can achieve) when you first read it.
